Protecting bank customers from impersonation scams
350+ fake profiles found for one bank alone
The brief
For Indian Bank, Union Bank of India and Bank of India, protecting customer trust goes beyond their own channels. Fake social media profiles, fraudulent messages and misleading content put customers at risk, and damage the bank’s reputation even when the bank isn’t at fault. The three banks needed support to spot these threats early, deal with customer concerns and respond before misinformation spread.
What We Did
- Monitored social media continuously for suspicious profiles and messages.
- Verified each threat and reported fraudulent content through the platforms’ official channels.

- Worked with the banks to publish safety advisories in good time.
- Replied directly to customers who were worried about messages or links they’d received.
The result
350+ fake Indian Bank profiles and 70+ fake Bank of India profiles identified and reported.
A fake Indian Bank Facebook profile suspended within two days. A fraudulent Bank of India YouTube channel removed within four.
1,500+ customer mentions answered across Union Bank of India and Bank of India.
